The Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries was established in 2017 in Al-Mustaqbal University College University to contribute in supplying the country with engineering competencies in the field of chemical engineering. The department strives to fulfill the needs of its professors and associates to meet the needs of the national industry of engineering cadres working in various fields of industry, including petroleum, petrochemical, construction, food and pharmaceutical industries. The department continues to keep abreast of the scientific development and openness towards the boundaries of science through specializations in the preliminary study, : Engineering of oil refining and petrochemical engineering to give the chemical engineer in Al-mustaqbal university college a distinct role in the specialties needed for industrial development is rarely available in other Iraqi universities.                             
The requirements for graduation in this section are a four-year full-time study and one month of summer training.

The department seeks to achieve the privacy of the scientific department by enriching the students with the practical and applied skills and experience extended to the nature of Al-Mustaqbal University College. The department's vision is clearly shown by the scientific disciplines (branches) it owns: the petroleum refining engineering branch and the petrochemical engineering branch. The department in these disciplines adopt the principle of high performance and quality in order to achieve innovation and development in the field of chemical engineering sciences.
